Gallery Sklo presents Drawing the Dreamscape, the first solo exhibition by artist Lee Taehoon, on view from November 21. This exhibition reveals a point of arrival reached after an intense summer and a prolonged period of contemplation—an inner rhythm distilled and rendered through lines that trace the trajectory of emotion. The newly presented works embody a heightened level of refinement, capturing the lingering resonance of light with greater clarity and density.
Lee Taehoon’s practice is rooted in the filigrana technique, in which glass threads are heated, stretched, and layered repeatedly. Here, the line is not merely decorative or ornamental; it becomes a “grain of time,” condensing the artist’s breath, tremor, and inner struggle—originating from the delicate vitality of drifting dandelion seeds.
Each line is not a singular gesture, but a trace left by the passage of the mind. Subtle vibrations remain on the surface of the glass, while color quietly permeates its depth. Layers of light accumulate to form a lingering afterglow, recording the transformation of emotions that have passed through darkness into light. In this exhibition, Lee presents what may be described as a “night sky of the mind, drawn in lines,” where we encounter moments in which traces of long-held emotions bloom once more as light.
The lines inscribed in glass are no longer trajectories of anxiety, but languages of calm. Standing before the works, viewers are invited to follow the gentle resonance of light—experiencing a quiet yet profound reverberation within.
